This section relates experiences and provide some informations about trend and news of entrepreneurship in India. Because I love it, I focus on new technologies, Internet and Telecom issues. Sometimes, I allow myself to pay a small tribute to small entrepreneurs in Pondicherry and crazy french enterprises experimenting partnerships with India

Telecom in india is far most developed than Internet. But marketers, human ressources, individuals should keep an eye of Internet application, as many urbans use it and it bring interesting services for rural areas. The lauching of 3G auction last december is maybe a first step for the convergence of these 2 industries.
Internet in India gather all the same more than 50 million people. Let's have a look today on social networking website. You, french reader, may be familiar to facebook or viadeo, but do you know Orkut, the 2004 Google social network that take quite 60% of market share in India and is mostly active in Brazil, India, States and Iran ? Srinath Balachandran (photo, on The Hindu website), founder and director of Choco-la, is living proof that it is possible to transform a childhood passion into a successful business. He also proves that Pondicherry is not the sleepy town that one imagines, but that it is right in the middle of the great Indian economic boom, offering all the products and services imaginable to millions of consumers.

The faithful readers of this blog know that what fascinates me in India is this ability here to mix so easily ecomical and social matters. I am also discovering an other aspect which is for me very sympathetic and familiar !
I do believe that India est one of the most 2.0 country in the world ! Indeed, you know 2.0, this marketing custard pie that, for 2 years, enabled start-ups to re invent economical models and to resell to investors new versions just based on hot air ! This being the detractors definition. Others give a very limited technical definition such as web sites using Ajax I refer to 2.0 being this model which specificity relies on customers implication, including web sites and, generally speaking, services. Google is a good example. The basic algorithm and the calculation innovative power empower the system to deliver a pertinent answer in less than one forth of a second.

Pondichery - the new Mecca of Information Technology? Yes, I knew that the first line would make you crack a smile. Although, at the same time, how many of you believed in Bangalore thirty years ago? And on top of all – it’s not me who has said it but the very serious “The Hindu” in its November 13th (2008) edition! It’s not front page, but in the “local” section on page 2 and it raves about Pondichery being the health, economic, agricultural and IT capital.

This post is still in french. If you wish to contribute to it translation, you're most welcome and you could gain my eternal gratitude !
