I like indian movies, from Bollywood to Satyajit Ray ! I don't know anything about, but I like and I discover new things everyday. Everyweek, in fact, when Alliance Francaise show new great films on Sunday. And, from time to time, in a Chennai or Pondicherry cinema, the best way to discover. Atmosphere in the room has really nothing to see with a DVD show, even if it can be a convenient way to discover new Bollywood with friends and family !

It has been a while I didn't write any post about indian movies. First, because my new vocation in Prakti Design takes me the most of my time! Second because french alliance has spent more than 2 months without any indian classical to see on it screen!
It allows me to discover the formal-unformal DVD. Like most of developing countries, street of Pondicherry are a sort of giant and living Bit Torrent! Hindi DVD are correct, you often find 10 on 1 CD, without the disadvantage of buying a porn when you want the last Bollywood. English ones are of good quality also for the picture, but more funny than useful for subtitles. It is one of the favourites jokes amongst expats to quote the last biggest funny error found in subtitles!! Well, the come back of indian movie was very good tonight, with the 2008 "Welcome to Sajjanpur" from Shyam Benegal. A must see in an election period that comes now in India

Jean-Philippe Gunet, the French moviegoer who wrote about "Ramchand Pakistani" a few days ago, had the opportunity to see "Slumdog Millionnaire" in France before its release in India.

This post is still in french. If you wish to contribute to it translation, you're most welcome and you could gain my eternal gratitude !

This post is still in french. If you wish to contribute to it translation, you're most welcome and you could gain my eternal gratitude !
